PEMBROKE – University of North Carolina at Pembroke defensive standout Mike Keck has been invited to the Buffalo Bills rookie minicamp, the Fayetteville native confirmed this week.

The first minicamp for Buffalo’s 2016 draft class and other aspiring National Football League Players will take place at One Bills Drive in Orchard Park, New York. Head coach Rex Ryan, along with the other members of the Bills coaching staff and front office, will be in attendance at the event.

Keck, a product of Grays Creek High School, played in 36 games for the Braves over the last four years and registered 114 career tackles (61 solo), including 31 tackles for loss (-151 yards). He shattered UNCP’s single season sack record with 11 quarterback drops last season, and also established a new program mark with 13 quarterback hurries.

Keck is the second UNCP football player to garner an invite to an NFL tryout. Former tight end Mike Yerry (2009-13) worked out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at their rookie minicamp in 2014.
