LAURINBURG — A woman has been charged following a one-car crash at N.C. 79 South and U.S. 74 West in Scotland County on Monday afternoon.

According to Trooper S. Baldwin with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Tammy Parker, 43, unknown address, ran a stop sign, crashed through a guardrail and proceeded down an embankment around 5 p.m. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.

Parker was transported by ambulance to Scotland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, who has not been identified, was airlifted to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, S.C.

Baldwin said Parker was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.

Baldwin said Parker is expected to recover from her injuries, but did not have an update on the passenger’s condition as of Tuesday morning.
