LAURINBURG – Gov. Roy Cooper has named Scotland County resident Hew Fulton to the State Health Coordinating Council, a panel that helps guide the growth of health care facilities in North Carolina.
Fulton, who is the immediate past chairman of the board of directors of FirstHealth of the Carolinas, will serve on the 14-member council as an at-large member, Cooper’s office announced.
The State Health Coordinating Council directs development of the annual State Medical Facilities Plan. The North Carolina State Medical Facilities Plan contains policies and methodologies used in determining need for new health care facilities and services in North Carolina.
Fulton has been president and CEO at Z V Pate, Inc. in Laurel Hill since 2009. He has served on many board and committees including the Boy Scouts, Laurinburg Rotary and Richmond Community College Foundation.
Fulton has served on the board of directors of FirstHealth of the Carolinas in many capacities for the past six years. In 2017, he was the recipient of the North Carolina Hospital Association Trustee Service Award.
