LAURINBURG —“We played an ugly game and that’s why we got beat,” volleyball head coach Adam Romaine said after the Lady Scots were swept at home by the Gray’s Creek Bears Tuesday.
It was one of those games for the Scots where nothing seemed to go right, while everything seemed to go right for Gray’s Creek .
“They played terrible,” Romaine said. “ In practice we looked terrible and it carried over against Gray’s Creek. It seemed like they were going through the motions and had a whatever attitude.”
“We have five seniors on this team and someone has to step up. Molly Gallagher does a lot, but she can’t do it all. Our setters were bad. They couldn’t set themselves out of a wet paper bag,” he added.
The Lady Scots went down 25-16 in the first set, 25-17 in the second and 25-22 in the third.
Scotland (7-2) will hit the road Thursday to face Terry Sanford at 6 p.m.
