LAURINBURG —Scotland High sophomore running back Michael McLean is no longer the No. 1-ranked football player in the Class of 2029 in North Carolina, according to Prepredzone.
McLean now sits at No. 2 after being overtaken by four-star Kaiden Okam, a sophomore defensive end and tight end who attends Mallard Creek in Charlotte. Okam holds offers from Texas A&M, the University of Georgia, the University of South Carolina, Florida State, NC State and North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
McLean responded to the post with a GIF of someone spitting out their drink in laughter.
Now ranked No. 2, McLean will have a huge chip on his shoulder as he enters the season coming off a remarkable freshman campaign as the Scots’ primary back.
