LAURINBURG —The Laurinburg Optimist 12U All-Star baseball team secured a victory against the Sandhills, winning 8-3 on Friday night to claim the District 3 championship at Memorial Park in Southern Pines. They finished the five-day tournament with a perfect record of 4-0. The team will be heading to Williamson for the state tournament, which is scheduled to take place from July 23 to 26.
