Mrs. Bracey was born on June 23, 1934 in Waycross, Ga., to the late Alexander Frank Bullard and Mertie O’Mirra (Smith) Bullard.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6 2013 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen with the Rev. Jonathan Wallace officiating
Mrs. Bracey began her nursing career at Moore County Hospital, now FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in 1957. She left the hospital in 1962 and was employed with Dr. Caddell in Aberdeen for six years. She later retired from Pinehurst Dermatology in 1996. Dot was very active in Bethesda Presbyterian Church in many ways including various study groups, serving as a deacon, and member of the Christ Care Group.
Mrs. Bracey was preceded in death in 2008 by her husband of 51 years, Charles A. Bracey, Sr.
She is survived by her son Charles “Chuck” A. Bracey, Jr. of Aberdeen, two daughters: Emily Henderson and husband Al of Trinity and Mary “Beth” Elizabeth Ferguson and husband Chuck of Aberdeen, three sisters: Marie Thomasson of Fuquay Varina, Martha Jo Rowell of Moneta, Va., and Patricia “Pat” Pierce of Baltimore, Md., five grandchildren: Ann Henderson, Sarah Henderson, Bennett Henderson, Emily Ferguson, and Josh Ferguson.
