A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by the Rev. Dwayne Powers. Burial will follow at the Ellis family cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home.
Born on Feb. 13, 1949 in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late James Wesley and Gladys Hyatt Ellis. She attended McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from the Marlboro County School System. Ms. Ellis was a loving, unselfish woman who loved children and helping others. She also enjoyed yard work, fishing, doing mechanic work, and going to yard sales and auctions.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew Charles Kenny Leviner, Jr. and a special friend, Margaret Jones.
She is survived by her brothers James Ellis and wife Geraldine of McColl, Nickie Ellis of McColl, and Tony Ellis and wife Wilma of Bennettsville, S.C., sisters Judy Steen and husband George of McColl, Deborah Lewellen of McColl, and Pam Danford and husband John of Laurinburg, two special nephews: Justin Brooks and Brandon Brooks, several other nieces and nephews, and special family friends Tonia Monachelli and Trisha Jones Grainger.
