A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Stewartsville Baptist Church officiated by Marcus Huneycutt and Pastor J.C. McLean. A private interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park immediately following the service.
Daisy was born in Red Bank, N.J., daughter of the late Maleous and Daisy Lawery Moore. She was the devoted wife to the late Willie James McKoy. She retired from Burroughs Corporation after many years of service. Daisy faithfully served the Lord and was a longtime member of Stewartsville Baptist Church. She loved to spend time studying God’s word and in prayer. She was a devoted and loving mother and truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children Brenda Thompson and husband Henry Thompson of Laurinburg, Willie James McKoy, Jr., Deborah Peniston, and Phyllis McKoy all of Newark, N.J., grandchildren Simone Dersiree Boyd and Carl Douglas Boyd, Jr., great-grandchildren, Briona Daiz, Vincent Hart Thomas, Dymon Unice Boyd, and Ashanay Shanice Gadson, and great-great-grandson Justin Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Mrs. McKoy to Stewartsville Baptist Church, 10401 McColl Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
