The Rev. Herbert Sei Lami Zigbuo, 72, died recently at his residence in Creedmoor.

He was a missionary for the United Methodist Church in Liberia as well as the United States, and the husband of the Rev. Mary Zigbuo, a missionary presently serving in the Rockingham District (Robeson, Scotland, and Richmond Counties). Memorial services and viewing will be from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Durham.

Rev. Zigbuo received a mechanical engineering degree from N.C. A&T State University in Greensboro and a masters of divinity degree from Duke Divinity School in Durham.

He is survived by his wife Mary Zigbuo, children Agnes Kou Zigbuo-Williams, Kou Dale Zigbuo-Moore, and Yah Mehniah Zigbuo-Eshun.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to continue the legacy of Rev. Zigbuo of scholarships for children, youth, and young adults in Liberia. Send to Mary Zigbuo, 327 Bridget Way, Creedmoor, NC, 27522.

Following services in Durham, his remains will be flown to Ganta, Nimba County, Liberia, where final rites will be held at Miller McAllister United Methodist Church.
