Police are searching for four individuals suspected in the shooting of a Laurinburg man early Wednesday morning.

Around 1 a.m., police found 21-year-old Markea White lying in the street in the 1100 block of South Caledonia Road after a report of shots fired. White had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body and was transported to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment.

According to Kim Monroe, interim chief of the Laurinburg Police Department, officers found several rounds of spent ammunition from an assault-style rifle at the scene. While investigation is still underway, detectives have issued warrants for the arrest of three of the four suspected gunmen: Rodriquez Antonio "Rod" Henderson, 29, of 918 Kinston St., Shawn Emmanuel "Little Killer" Henderson, 21, of 320 Lincoln St., and Nicholas "Little Soldier" McNeil, 20, of 3B Scotland Manor.

They face charges for attempted murder and, according to Monroe, are considered armed and absolutely dangerous.

“Officers were out early this morning searching for the gunmen and we are taking this matter very seriously and making it a priority," Monroe said. "It is our mission to partner with other agencies in efforts to aggressively pursue violent offenders, especially those involved in gun violence. We have had several meetings with the District Attorney’s office concerning gun violence cases and we have met with the ATF and the U.S. Attorney to discuss protocol in getting these violent offenders prosecuted in federal court."

Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or who has knowledge of the location of any of the four suspects should call 911 or Scotland Crimestoppers at 291-3333.
