“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 89:1

What would Christmas be without music? I can’t imagine this season without the carols, songs and choruses that cheer the heart and lift our spirits. Christmas songs have been pouring out of our radios, stereos, MP3’s, computers, stores, well – everywhere. And the songs speak of the fact that a little baby born into this world came with the power to change a man’s heart, make him new, and provide a future that is beyond comprehension. “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” and so many familiar carols lift our hearts to heaven from where the God of the Universe stepped down into time and space to begin the journey to the Cross – the Cross that bridges the gap between man and his sin and God and His salvation. It is the story of the Cradle, the Cross, and the Crown that makes the difference for each person. Accept Christ this Christmas, and sing the song of a New Hope for Today.

Marshall is pastor of New Hope Baptist Church
