The tournament is in memory of John C. ÒPeteÓ Hasty, who was dedicated to his community and served in many capacities, one being a member of the Board of the Cape Fear Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Planning is underway and sponsors are being secured for the annual event. Thomas A. (Tab) Broome, President of Scottish Food Systems, is the 2010 tournament chairman, with Guy McCook, President of Hasty Realty, serving as golf committee chairman.
For many years the funds raised have helped ensure that scouting remains a strong influence on the youth in this area. Strong community support and tournament sponsorship by many generous business partners and individuals has led to a successful event each year.
Teams are now being organized for the tournament. The entry fee of $60 per player includes green fee and cart.
Space is limited and entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register a team or individual, call Scotch Meadows Country Club Golf Shop at 276-0169.
For information about sponsorship opportunities call Tab Broome at (910) 276 -6740, ext. 2141.
Proceeds go to the Cape Fear Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
