The following are scores and some highlights from recent action in the American Legion baseball league.

Champs 10, Holiday Inn 2

Champs (8-2) maintained a half-game lead in the 13-14 year old division with a 10-2 victory over Holiday Inn.

Teth Cook turned in a big day for Champs.

The Scotland High rising sophomore turned in the winning pitching performance and was Champs' top hitter, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Dylan Ward went 1-for-3 while legging out a triple. He also walked once and scored three times.

Matt Caviness and Bradley Scott both led Holiday Inn at the dish with 1-for-3 showings. Caviness had an RBI while Scott scored once.

Canadys 11, Shirt Tales 8

Canadys (7-2) overcame a one-run loss to Defenders by picking up an 11-8 win over Shirt Tales.

Cody Freeman went 2-for-2 with a double and a walk to lead Canadys at the dish. He also scored three times. Martin Locklear went 1-for-1 with a pair of walks and scored twice. Mike Jones picked up the win on the mound.

Logan Hatcher went a perfect 4-for-4 with a run scored to lead Shirt Tales (2-8). Walker Davis finished 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and three runs scored.
