Maxton man shot

A Maxton man was shot at a convenience store,

Robert Seals, 35, of Red Hill Road, reported at 2:40 a.m. on Monday that he was shot in the ankle at C&P Mini Mart, a Robeson County sheriff’s report said.

Seals told deputies that he was leaving the market when a man he knows pulled up in a gray sedan and accused Seals of stealing “dope from him.” Seals said the man pulled out a handgun and shot Seals in the ankle.

Investigators make drug arrest

The Scotland County Sheriff's Office arrested a Laurel Hill man on drug charges after an an undercover investigation, according to a sheriff's report.

Investigators arrested Terry Ray Knight, 39, at his Bayfield Road residence Monday at 1 p.m., the report said. He is charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, selling and delivering marijuana and maintaining a drug dwelling. Deputies seized 0.03 grams of marijuana.

Knight is in Scotland County jail under a $30,000 bond.

Vehicle stolen from storage building.

A Maxton man told deputies more than $7,000 in property was stolen from a storage unit.

Sheman McQueen, 32, of Geneva’s Court, reported Friday that plywood was pried off his storage building and property stolen, a Robeson County sheriff’s report said.

McQueen listed as missing a 2007 Honda TRX 400,worth $4,600, and $2,600 worth of tools.

Two arrested for assault

Deputies charged two with assault Sunday morning, a sheriff's report said.

Tiffany Ann Locklear, 16, and John Willie Lewis, 19, both of Hillcreek Road in Wagram, were arrested at 11:15 a.m. Locklear is charged with simple assault and Lewis is charged with assault on a female, the report said.

Both were placed in Scotland County jail without bond.

Four-wheeler reported stolen

Delton Locklear, 61, of Harpers Ferry Church Road, reported Saturday that his 2006 Suzuki Eiger four-wheeler was stolen, a Robeson County sheriff’s report said.

The four-wheeler was worth $3,500.
