The Pilot Club of Laurinburg took home a number of awards during the recent District Convention.
Eleven members of the Pilot Club of Laurinburg attended the event in Greensboro last weekend.
Laurinburg club members met with Pilots from all over the state of North Carolina.
During the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, the Pilot Club of Laurinburg received several awards, including 1st place for its Brainminder Project, 3rd place for tthe number of hours volunteered in the community, and 3rd place for its newsletter, "The Beacon".
During the Saturday night, Officer Installation Service, Paula Haste of the Rocky Mount Luncheon Pilot Club was installed as Governor for the next Pilot year beginning July 1.
The Pilot Club of Laurinburg was chartered on May 7, 1969 and just celebrated with its 40th anniversary Reception, held April 26.
