Christine Purvis Ratley, 96, of Laurinburg passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at her home.

Christine was born in Petersburg, Va. on May 29, 1916. She was a daughter of the late John D. Purvis and Elsie Lee Knapp Purvis and the beloved wife to the late E. Radford Ratley. She and her late husband were the co-owners of The Auto Storage Company formerly in Norfolk, Va. She was a longtime resident of Laurinburg and a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister Jeanette Purvis Stubbs.

Mrs. Ratley is survived by her brother John Robert “Bob” Purvis of Savannah, Ga., sister Ruth Purvis Trollinger of Rockwell, nieces, nephews, special caregiver Lisa Hinson, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service. A private burial will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Va.
