Two of the four gunmen suspected in a Laurinburg shooting have been arrested, according to authorities.
Around 1 a.m., Wednesday city police responded to the 1100 block of South Caledonia Road after shots were reported in the area. Markea White, 21, of Laurinburg was found lying on the pavement having suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body. According to interim police chief Kim Monroe, spent rounds from an assault weapon were found at the scene.
Shortly after the shooting, warrants were issued for the arrest of Rodriquez Antonio “Rod” Henderson, 29, of 918 Kinston St., Shawn Emmanuel “Little Killer” Henderson, 21, of 320 Lincoln St., and Nicholas “Little Soldier” McNeil, 20, of 3B Scotland Manor, as well as one other suspect that authorities have not named.
White, in critical condition following the shooting, was transported to an undisclosed medical facility. No update on his condition has been issued.
Rodriquez Henderson and Shawn Henderson were arrested Wednesday afternoon, interrogated, and charged with attempted murder and conspiracy, with other charges pending. Each Henderson was placed under $250,000 bond. Police say the two are related.
McNeil and the fourth suspect, still at large, face the same charges, which are subject to change should the victim’s condition deteriorate.
“We’re actually searching for him presently, so we’re still asking for anybody who knows of his whereabouts to contact us,” Monroe said.
Anyone with information regarding McNeil’s whereabouts or the fourth assailant should call 911 or Scotland County Crimestoppers at 291-3333. According to Monroe, they should both be considered armed and dangerous.
