Walter Galvenston Marshall, Jr., 77, of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.

Mr. Marshall was raised at the Mills Home Baptist Orphanage in Thomasville. He was the son of the late Helen Whidden Marshall and Walter G. Marshall, Sr. He worked was a maintenance supervisor with Paramount Paper Company retiring after many years of service.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Crouch, brother George Marshall, and half brother Edgar Whidden.

Walter is survived by his wife of 60 years Alma Hill Marshal of the home, daughters Angie D. Marshall of the home and Diane Cusimano and husband Charles of Spring Hill, Fla., sons Walter Junior Marshall and wife Pam of Archdale, Terry A. Marshall and wife Elizabeth of Maxton, and Ronald Marshall and wife Patricia of Asheboro, sister Joy Hill of High Point, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be from 6- 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Richard Boles Funeral Service. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are requested to be made to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
