Darlene was born on Sept. 11, 1982. She worked as a clinical secretary for Wake Medical Center. She was also a graduate of Barton College.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Raleigh. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 12:30- 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Darlene is survived by her husband Tommy Burke, her parents Lois W. Evans and Byron Upchurch, twin sister Jessica Rae Upchurch of the home, half brother Byron D. Upchurch, Jr., maternal grandparents J.C. and Rachel Whitt, paternal grandmother Peggy Upchurch, mother-in-law Sharon Burke, and other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love her and will miss her.
