Mr. Doug Leviner, 71, of Laurel Hill died on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Springfield Church of God in Laurel Hill. The Revs. David Shoemake, Michael Stephens, Dan Carter, and Carl Fosdick will officiate. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson.

The trumpet of God has sounded calling another prayer warrior and man of God to his reward. Doug Leviner was called away to his heavenly home on Nov. 23, 2012. He was the epitome of a Christian man. Doug was a retiree of Pilkington after 26 years of service. He was a faithful member of Springfield Church of God and served as a Sunday school teacher for 40 years. He served on the Pastor’s council and also served on many boards and committees within the church. He loved to sing praises unto God and share his faith with everyone he met. He was a member of the Gideons and served as president of the local camp for 3 years.

He is survived by his wife Frances, his children Joyce Ann Odom (Ricky), Mary Ellen Hegwer (Henry), Tina Joy Frier (James), and Jamie Nicole Locklear (Ryan), four sisters: Vivian Bigley, Vera Ruiz, Elizabeth Warr, and Maxine Leviner, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in Springfield Church of God, Laurel Hill.

Boles Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Red Springs is serving the family.
