Laurinburg police have arrested a teenager in a May 20 shooting, but they are still looking for two others believed to have been involved.
On Friday, police arrested 16-year-old Calvin Stewart of 306 Wagram Street.
He was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and felony conspiracy for his role in the shooting of Travis Pemebrton.
According to police, at around 6:30 a.m. on May 20, 27-year-old Pemberton was shot outside of his home on Alder Road after a drug-related argument with three individuals.
Pemberton was shot in three places, including his head, but was alert and responsive after the incident.
A large amount of marijuana was located inside Pemebrton’s home after the shooting, and Pemberton may face charges upon completion of the investigation, according to Lt. Marc Godwin.
Stewart was on probation at the time of Pemberton’s shooting and he has been placed under no bond.
Police are also searching for Eddie Frank McLaurin III, 19, of 312 Apt. H Carver Street for attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and felony conspiracy. The third person involved has yet to be identified, Godwin said.
