East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church will premier a documentary focusing on the transformation in an Eastern Kentucky community.

Produced by The Sentinel Group, “An Appalachian Dawn”explains how local churches and residents in Clay County have united through prayer and a common goal to fight back against drugs and corruption.

It is planned for May 24 at 7 p.m. at the church at 302 Sanford Road in Laurinburg. Admission is free.

“Scotland County has been fighting a similar war against high unemployment, drugs, gangs and despair,” said Rev. Michael Edds, pastor of East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. “What has happened in Manchester, Kentucky gives hope for Scotland County.”
