To the editor:
I would like to know why our elected officials feel it necessary to keep the people of Scotland County and Laurinburg always in the dark about our economic development in the county and in the city . You know job, job, jobs. and the so called corporations supposedly are looking at our county and cities and towns within the county to locate. When we ask about jobs we only get the provable run around from all of them instead of straight a valid answer. Did we elect these people just to get the silence treatment from them and let them spend our precious money in a way which does not benefit all of the people in Scotland County? We need answers from them and not silence. What about filling all of the empty buildings within our county like the Qualpak and Mohawk buildings and the old Winn Dixie store which has been empty for years and the empty stores in the Holly Square shopping center?
As I said before we need answers now not later.
Clement C. Flick
