Platt finished the contest against the Broncos with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting, grabbing eight rebounds in just 21 minutes in his return to the region.
The Rams topped Fayetteville State 74-69, shooting over 46 percent from the field while scoring 38 second-half points.
With the top spot in their division, Winston-Salem State earned a bye in the first round of the CIAA tournament and are slated to play tomorrow at 7 p.m. against the winner of Virginia State University and Fayetteville State.
The Rams are currently 19-6 overall and finished with a 12-5 mark in conference play during the regular season.
Platt currently averages 15.6 minutes a contest for Winston-Salem State, and is shooting just under 50 percent from the floor while grabbing 3.7 rebounds a contest.
The Rams have had success against both VSU and FSU this season, sweeping the Broncos in their two games this season whole topping Virginia State 67-56 in their lone matchup this season.
The Rams’ contest will be aired on TV One, who will be covering the tournament in Charlotte, N.C., for the quarterfinals and semifinals before ESPN airs the championship final live Saturday on ESPNU and ESPN3.
