‘Peter and Wendy’ performed Saturday at UNCP

PEMBROKE — When Captain Hook sends his right-hand man Smee on a quest to capture Peter Pan, it’s seemingly business as usual.

Little does Hook — and theater fans — realize what fantastic adventures await in the search for the elusive Peter Pan.

“Peter and Wendy” will be presented at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Givens Performing Arts Center on campus at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.The show is organized by the Missoula Children’s Theatre residency.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $4 for children under 18 and are available at the door. There will be a cast party following the performance.

The show will include seven young performers from Scotland County along with children from Robeson and Cumberland counties, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Clarkton and Sanford.

The local cast features Chadon Foreman as Peter Pan and Isabel Huesa as Peter’s Shadow. Playing Tinkerbell is Adriana Southern with Shandi Tilson, Shelby Schwegman, Eden Curtiss, Cedric Nephew, Titus McMillan, Jori Jones, and Hannah Strickland as the Lost Boys. Lydia Mansfield is Wendy Darling and John and Michael Darling are Jake Dial and Miles Hale. Mr. and Mrs. Darling are Chrisoula Theodorou and Frank Ladd with Caroline Locklear and Alena Thomas as Nana and Liza.

The notorious Captain Hook is Andrew Johnson with Kennedy Jones, Katy Power, Jaden Valdes, David Ladd, Laura Granger, Gemma Curtiss, and Cassidy Chavis as his Pirate crew. Madeline Litty as Tiger Lily and Ashtyn Thomas, Ana Huesa, Lukas Stanton, and Naomi Lenz as the Neverlanders and Kyerah Hunt, Kylie Fruehing, Payton Quador, Laney Dial, Liliana Locklear, and Ava Moore as the Neverland Creatures. Flying their way to Neverland are Lakyn Jacobs, Sydnea Jones, Bryson Fruehling, Tyler Jackson, Norah Johnson, Rivers Malcolm, Brooklyn Jones, Madison DeBerry, Presleigh Bullard, Madelynn Locklear, Pyper Harrell, Wren Stanton and Emery Jacobs as Clouds. Serving as assistant directors will be Caileigh Chavis, Mallory Cummings, Haley Branch, and Katelyn Quador.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency is presented locally by Givens Performing Arts Center with support from the North Carolina Arts Council, Robeson County Commissioners, Robeson Family Practice, San Jose Mexican Restaurant, C&C Builders, CiCi’s Pizza, Mr. Lee Turner, Arnold’s, McDonald’s of Pembroke.
