LAURINBURG — Laurinburg Police are investigating three separate shootings in the city in two days that left two people injured.
The first occurred on Monday afternoon on Alexander Avenue. Deputy Chief Charles Sessoms said the 19-year-old victim was walking down the street when she heard gunshots. She was struck in the leg and taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital for treatment.
It is believed there was a disturbance between two groups, one group is believed to have been in a silver vehicle.
Officers responded to 309 Emory Street, at 11:30 p.m., Monday, for a report of a shooting into a home. The house was occupied by three women and one man, who were not injured. A vehicle was also struck during the shooting.
Sessoms said no one was injured. The occupants said they were inside the home when they heard gun shots. The residents did not see anyone outside the residence, police said.
The condition of the 19-year-old male victim in the third shooting is unknown. Sessoms said officers were called to 804 Ashley Drive for a report of a shooting at 1 a.m., Tuesday. The victim told officers he was standing in front of the apartments near the dumpster when two suspects approached him and asked his name. When he stated his name they starting shooting.
He was shot multiple times in the torso. He was not able to give a description of the suspects other than two males with shirts over their faces.
