LAURINBURG — Scotland Community Health Clinic received a $10,140 grant from the NC Association of Free and Charitable Clinics in partnership with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation.
The grant was based upon the results from a 2015 NCAFCC Annual Outcomes Survey that listed the Scotland clinic as top performer among other NCAFCC free clinics. The survey detailed patient results for diabetes care and hypertension.
“This grant came at a good time as another major grant that was anticipated for the upcoming year was curtailed mid-cycle and funds transferred to a different section,” said Executive Director Andy Kurtzman.
Scotland Community Health Clinic provides free primary care to uninsured adult residents of Scotland County who also meet the Clinic’s financial eligibility requirements. The Clinic is funded solely by donations and grants.
