LAURINBURG — The city of Laurinburg will host its annual Fourth of July celebration at Scotland High School’s Pate Stadium on Monday.
East Coast Pyrotechnics will put on a 20-minute light show, at a cost to the city of $12,000. Fireworks will begin at around 9:15 p.m., depending upon light conditions.
While attendees can park on nearby roads and watch the show from the comfort of their vehicles or the bed of a truck, gates to the stadium will open at 7 p.m.
Members of the Scotland High School Fighting Scots Band will be on hand this year to entertain the crowd prior to the fireworks display.
The Scotland High School Band Boosters will be selling snacks and drinks.

— In Maxton, Independence Day will be celebrated on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. at Beacham Park. The event will include entertainment, games and activities for all ages. Fireworks will be held after dark.
— The week-long Annual Lumbee Homecoming festival in Pembroke that recognizes the heritage of the Lumbee people in Robeson County and surrounding areas, ends with a fireworks show on Saturday at 9 p.m.
— After a morning parade and afternoon events, the Fourth Fest in the Village of Pinehurst will continue in the evening with a concert and fireworks celebration at the Pinehurst Harness Track. Children’s activities will include pony rides, hayrides, bounce houses and more.
