Fayetteville murder suspect arrested in Laurinburg

LAURINBURG — A Fayetteville woman wanted in a fatal shooting of a Cumberland County man was arrested in Laurinburg on Sunday.

Latoya A. Henderson, 33, of Fox Grove Circle, Fayetteville, has been charged in conection with the shooting death of Travis Elijah Freeman, 39, of Fayetteville.

Police say Freeman was shot in a parking lot on Fox Grove Circle around 2:40 a.m. Friday. The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Henderson was taken into custody late Sunday night without incident in Laurinburg with the assistance of the Laurinburg Police Department.

She was transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where she was processed on the warrants for first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

She is being held without bond.

Police are still looking James E. Jones, 34, of Fayetteville.
