Anthony Jernigan, Aaron Seate and Nicholas Chance obtained junior black belts from Morrison’s Martial Arts Academy on March 27. The students were examined by master instructor Mike Durkins. To obtain a black belt, students must pass a rigorous exam testing them in all aspects of Tae Kwon Do. A minimum score of 85 out of a possible 100 points is required, and they were tested on knowledge (history), forms (imaginary fighting), defensive and offensive techniques (redirecting/blocking/attacking), kicks and punches, takedowns, knife defense and board breaking.
