Scots baseball, softball games postponed

Staff report

LAURINBURG — Mother Nature continues to wreak havoc on this week’s postseason schedule.

After inclement weather pushed back Southeastern Conference first-round soccer action one day, rain has delayed the start of the SEC baseball and softball tourneys. Tuesday’s Scotland-Lumberton softball tilt in Robeson County is now scheduled for today, and Scotland baseball won’t return to action until Thursday at the earliest.

Scots baseball earned a first-round round bye in the tournament and will play the winner of today’s Pinecrest-Hoke contest. If Scots softball defeats the Pirates, they will travel to Rockingham to battle rival Richmond Senior on Thursday.
