LAURINBURG — Scotland High School’s Jim Riggs, who graduated in 1982 and played for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII, will be take part in a special presentation at the school today during halftime of the boys basketball game.

Riggs will present a golden football to Scotland, which was given to him by the NFL. The league is honoring 3000 high schools across America with the coveted football — every high school with a former student that has participated in a Super Bowl will receive one.

The girls varsity game is slated to tip off at 6 p.m., and the boys will follow around 7:30.
