LAURINBURG — Scotland High baseball coach Chad Hill will host a hitting camp and a pitcher and catcher camp Nov. 21 at Optimist Baseball Park.
The camp is geared towards youth ages 8-14.
Three professional baseball players will also accompany Hill at the camps — Nick Liles from the San Francisco Giants organization, Curt Britt of the Miami Marlins and Nick Collins of the Oakland A’s are scheduled to be in attendance.
The cost for one of the camps is $30, and the cost to participate in both camps is $50. The hitting camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30, and the pitching and catching camp is slated for 1 p.m. to 3:30.
Registration will take place the day of the camps starting at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the second session is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

Parks and Rec continues hoops registration
LAURINBURG — Scotland County Parks and Recreation will continue registration for youth basketball this week.
Boys and girls ages 6-15 can sign up, and the cost is $20.
Applicants can register at the Parks and Recreation center located at 1210 Turnpike Road through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Wagram Recreation Center and the Laurel Hill Community Center will also accept registration applications.
