Course Notes Cypress Creek Gerald Mabe hit a hole—in-one Tuesday on the 11th hole. Mabe said he has been playing golf for 35 years and this was his first. Pirates earn place in final; Scots come up short
Lumberton is moving on to the Southeastern Conference championship in soccer after defeating Scotland 2-1 Tuesday. The Pirates took a two-goal lead and fended off the Scots to earn a match with Pinecrest in the final on Thursday. The Scotland High School’s soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss to Whiteville on Friday evening, but the focus now shifts to the conference tournament, which begins Monday. Richmond’s Bradley Brown crushed a ball to center field to push a run across for the Raiders as they spoiled Scotland High School’s senior night by winning 4-3 in a dramatic game.
