Trash site closings may save $30,000
Scotland County could be losing two of its five solid waste convenience centers according to next year's proposed county budget. After running at a loss for a number of years, it seems that the centers on Palmer Road and Sneads Grove will finally be getting the ax. Safety Town deadline nears
The United Way of Scotland County will sponsor its annual Safety Town program beginning June 17. Safety Town is a week-long program for pre-kindergarten students that teaches safety lessons on animals, strangers, traffic, pedestrians, fire, bicycles, bus, water and guns.
