The Laurinburg Exchange
The president of the Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce is resigning, officials confirmed on Monday.
Theresa Pinto said that her resignation would be effective May 8. It is a position that she has held since July, 2008.
“Over the past several years I have had the honor and privilege of leading the Chamber,” Pinto said in a statement. “The professional challenges of leading this dynamic organization have been fulfilling and rewarding. I have accomplished the goals I established when accepting this position and it is a good time to pursue new professional opportunities and challenges.
Brenda Gilbert has been named the Interim President for the Chamber.
A search committee is being established and the Chamber expects to have new leadership in place by the end of the summer.
