Man wanted in double murder arrested
by Mary Katherine Murphy
A Laurel Hill man wanted in the double homicide of his girlfriend and her father turned himself in to authorities on Monday, according to Scotland County Sheriff Shep Jones. Steven Craig English, 44, has evaded capture since his girlfriend, 48-year-old Tammy Wright, and her father Arthur Wright, 77, were found dead inside their Laurel Hill home in March. English, who had lived with the Wrights, was nowhere to be found following the murders. At 2:30 a.m. Monday, English called the Scotland County Sheriff’s office to set up a meeting at Nic’s Pic Kwik in Wagram. “Officers met with him at a convenience store in Wagram without incident, and he was taken into custody,” Jones said. “There were no problems or anything.” Leads and sightings called in to authorities over a four-months period went nowhere despite a $1,000 reward offered for information leading to English’s arrest. “He did not make any type of statement in reference to why he did it or that type of thing.” “I’ve had detectives working on this case since the murders took place - we’ve had hundreds of leads and supposed sightings, and we’ve followed up on each one of them.” “I’m happy to see that he decided to do the right thing and turn himself in.”

to onlythewickedflee here is your food for thought, first of all nobody ever said they didnt have the right to express there anger, second if you knew everything like you seem to think you do you would know that ms mcdonald and her family has been through something like this before only difference is common sense which is you dont threaten and blame other people for something they didnt do or have any control over and that go for life in general so it shows you have no common sense and by the way the person charged in that case is walking the streets today, third to hear the media and the wright family tell it she was there to take care of her dad so why would she need a place to stay unless that was a lie. tammy did steal from ms mcdonald so i guess it is easy to steal from a handicaped person, oh and by the way this is not ms mcdonald so if you want to address me do it as firebug28396 cause we are two different people

first of all i know both families very well and the only ones i heard and see saying a bunch of mess is the wright family now to ms wright where was all the love and support for tammy when her sister beat hear with a yard tool and kicked her out and ms mcdonald took her into her home because none of you would as a matter of fact ms mcdonald took her in at different times when her family would not so where where you then when she needed you, also if you know he did it you where there and need to be charged also, also there are a number of things people run from the law for like her daughter did she run from the police for probation violation and was caught here in scotland county and taking back to the beach, i would have thought people would have learned from the casey anthony case to not assume somebody did something because look how that turned out and everybody thought she was guilty, what im trying to say is he who is without sin cast the first stone and also look at your family before you blast somebody elses

@ FIREBUG:

THE WRIGHT FAMILY HAS A RIGHT TO BE EXPRESSING THEIR ANGER- THEY'VE HAD TWO FAMILY MEMBERS MURDERED. IF THE SHOE WAS ON THE OTHER FOOT THE ENGLISH'S WOULD BE RAISING ---- TOO. HERE'S SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT- IF KATHY MCDONALD WAS SO DEVOTED TO HER SON AND HIS "WIFE" HOW COME SHE DIDN'T HAVE THEM LIVING WITH HER? I GUESS IT'S EASIER TO STEAL FROM A CRIPPLED MAN WHO CAN'T DEFEND HIMSELF. SMART MOVE KATHY.. BETTER THEM THAN YOU, RIGHT?

First of all only the wicked-- I am not going to "a comment battle" with any of you but since you are quoting biblical terms you should know that Jesus Christ died for us, not because he was quilty of any sins but because he was condemmed from what I will term as a "judge". It didn't make him guilty of any wrong doing. Here you are trying to judge when God is the only

one that should be doing that. You should be, like a lot of people on your knees praying instead of trying to pass judgemnt.People do a lot of things out of fear, not because of any guilt or wrongdoing, but I along with you or anyone else do not know the reasons but I am not going to assume. People need to do more praying than talking and let God work things out. Second, I am not so ignorant that I will call people by their names or curse but I will say that it makes a lot of difference to me and a lot of people who are wondering, when it is public record that they were a married couple of why someone would provide false information to the sheriff dept. Maybe just maybe a lie was told for financial gain. That would mean not only could charges be made for providing false information to law enforcement but Maybe just maybe a fraud was committed for financial gain????? If so that is the difference that it makes!!! Just saying!!! If one lie was told, how many more have been told?? One more thing, JUST SO YOU KNOW, Mr. English always had a home and a place to go. JUST so you know and I know that you do, since you want to bash his mother and family, your "aunt" Tammy or mother was taken in whne she was beaten and thrown out of her home by Ms. McDonald. More than one occaision was she given a place to stay by this woman. Both sides have been thru a lot I would say, but so far I have only seen stones thrown from one side and it is not the English family.

First of all your information from the Sheriff is incorrect. This was not Mr. Englishs girlfriend, it is his or was his wife. Check you facts please. This is misleading and simple to check out. Why would anyone lie about them being married?????? That is why he was living there. The last time I checked that is what husband and wife do. Live together.Next Mr. Jones, maybe he didn't tell why because he DID NOT committ these crimes. It is a shame that now you have to prove yourself innocent instead of the way it should be, innocent until proven guilty and then sometimes it still doesn't work out like that.Be get your facts straight.

Only the WICKED flee when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a Lion...Those who foresake the LAW praise the WICKED, but those who keep the LAW strive against them. EVIL MEN do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely.

This fact fact is straight!!!!

Great Job Scotland County Sheriff's Office for keeping enough pressure on this man to make him buckle!!!

To the Wright Family, I hope that you soon find peace!!!
