A three-car accident near downtown caused one of the vehicles to flip over and halted traffic for about half and hour Wednesday afternnon.
Curtis Smiling, who was walking along Main Street, said he witnessed the 2:50 p.m. accident. According to Smiling, a Ford Taurus travelling south on Main Street ran a stop light at the intersection of Church and Main streets, colliding with a GMC Yukon travelling east on Church Street.
The impact appears to have caused the Yukon to turn onto its side, hitting another vehicle waiting to turn left from Main Street onto Church.
Following the accident, the driver of the Ford Taurus drove half a block further down Main Street before stopping.
Witnesses say the driver of the Yukon was able to exit her vehicle through the sunroof, apparently uninjured. She was evaluated by emergency workers and left the scene by ambulance.
The intersection was cleared by 3:15 p.m.
Police reports were unavailable by presstime.
