If you are looking for that gorgeous geranium or beautiful begonia, you have less than a week to take part in the annual flower sale put on by the Pilot Club of Laurinburg.

The sale is pre-order only and the deadline in March 30.

Club officials are worried about interest in the sale this year. They said that flower sales have been slow and that could impact the projects that the club supports.

Proceeds are used to help the Alzheimer’s Support Group, Stroke Awareness, BrainMinders, Adopt A Classroom, Autism Enhancement Program, and the Scotland High Anchor Club.

“Flower sales are down this year and we really want to help people in our area,” said Pilot Club President Leslie McLaughlin. “The monies from the Annual Pilot Club Flower Sale is used to fund projects related to brain health such as Alzheimer’s and Autism.”

She said that money is also given to the schools to help with supplies for special needs classes.

“All these projects are done with money raised from the flower sale and other fundraisers throughout the year. This is how we give back to the community,” McLaughlin said.

To order flowers, you should contact any Pilot Club member or call President Leslie McLaughlin at 280-3984. The pick-up date is April 14 at the American Legion Building from 8:30 am until 12 noon.

“There are many types of flowers being sold this year: geraniums,begonias, ferns, million bells, lantana, and others,” McLaughlin said. “They are healthy flowers that will look beautiful all summer if maintained, and of course, the money is for a wonderful cause.”
