Suspects in a series of break-ins at area storage facilities were charged with some 70 counts of breaking and entering this week, authorities say.
Allen Armstrong, 45, of 1509 Chestnut St. and Waldorf Crew, 27, of 210 Phritz St. were arrested Wednesday after their homes were searched by police.
Items recovered from the residences included a washing machine, blower, welder and mowers, according to Lt. Marc Godwin of the Laurinburg Police Department.
These items were stolen during break-ins dated from December 2011 to April 20 at Scotland Wholesale, Butler Mini Storage, and Storage Solutions, according to police.
The total value of items stolen is estimated to be $8,000.
Both Armstrong and Crew were charged with several counts of breaking and entering and larceny, with further charges pending for a total of some 70 counts - one for each individual storage unit involved in the break-ins.
They were each placed under a $65,000 secured bond.
