The Republican challenger for the 8th District has been endorsed by RPAC, the political arm of the National Association of REALTORS, following a strong recommendation from the North Carolina Association of REALTORS Political Action Committee.

North Carolina Association of REALTORS President Lou Baldwin cited Richard Hudson’s strong grasp of issues affecting the real estate industry as primary reasons for the support.

Hudson’s campaign said the endorsement represents the only instance nationally where the association has backed a non-incumbent during this campaign cycle.

“Now more than ever, we need people in Congress who will implement policies that put people back to work and allow them to pursue their dream of home ownership and a better life. Richard Hudson’s experience working for the people of the 8th District and deep grasp of the problems facing today’s real estate market will allow him to be an effective advocate for all of us on day one,” said Baldwin.

The National Association of REALTORS was founded in 1908 and is America’s largest trade association with approximately 1 million members including NAR’s five commercial real estate institutes and its societies and councils.

According to the Hudson campaign, the endorsement came with a $5,000 donation from the organization.

Hudson is challenging incumbent Democrat Larry Kissell for a spot in the US House.
