Commissioners John Alford, Bob Davis, Carol McCall and Joyce McDow made the annual day trip to Raleigh last week to meet with state representatives as part of the 21012 County Assembly Day.
The message the Commissioners took to Senator Bill Purcell and Reps Garland Pierce, G.L. Pridgen and Ken Goodman is do no harm to counties by passing unfunded mandates on to them.
County Assembly Day is an annual event sponsored by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners where elected officials and staff from counties across the State visit lawmakers in Raleigh to communicate concerns at the local level and to advocate for legislation that might affect counties.
