The Scots worked hard throughout the whole game, Head Coach Colin McDavid said.
"It was a tough loss for us tonight," he said. "I thought the guys worked really hard throughout the whole game, but we came up short in the end."
The Scots held the Richmond Raiders to a deadlock at 0-0 at the half. Scotland had a couple of chances from Balyn Krout and Evgheny Khandoga but were wide of the goal.
In the second half, Balyn Krout scored two goals to tie the game up after Richmond scored two goals as well. Krout has four goals on the season so far.
Krout said his two goals in the game came from a team effort. He said it all started from good passing from the defensive part of the field.
"The team gets the glory too, not just me," Krout said. "We moved the ball well so I could get the chances that I did."
For the first goal Krout received a pass from Evgheny Khandoga and turned and placed the ball in the corner of the goal.
Krout's second goal came from a good pass from one of his teammates, which Krout took and placed it in the back of the net to tie the game.
McDavid thought Krout got behind Richmond's defense effectively and used his skills to to create the goals.
"Balyn has good pace and uses good individual dribbling skills to create space for himself," McDavid said.
The Scots gave up a goal with minutes left in the game which would be the game winner for the Raiders.
"It's hard for us, but when you work hard and get the results that we have, in the end we have to look to the next game and prepare for what is going to come in the future," Krout said.
With the non-conference schedule moving along, McDavid hopes his team will learn from the losses to Richmond, Pine Forest and Jack Britt.
"Three games, three good teams, we have been competitive," McDavid said. "We want to win of course, I hate us losing, we need a win soon."
The Scots will have to work on keeping their opponents from scoring and scoring more goals on their side more and keeping them on their half of the field to be more successful, McDavid said.
The Scots will host another non-conference match against Southview tonight at 7 p.m. at Pate Stadium.
