Five residents and staff members from The Edwin Morgan Center in Laurinburg took a recent outing to Troy.

The trip was a planned event to meet some of the original cast members of The Andy Griffith Show. The group was entertained by a Barney Fife impersonator, the original Charlene Darling and one of the Darling boys.

“Our residents had a lot of laughs with Barney and the other Mayberry gang,” said Tanya Currin, the center’s life enrichment director. “Our thanks go to Dewey Lamb for arranging this visit for us. We are also grateful to Scotland Memorial Foundation for making this outing possible. It means a great deal to our residents to have the opportunity to travel outside the walls of the Edwin Morgan Center.”
