To the editor:
I am concerned, being a white resident of the city, as to whether Curtis Leak and Herbert Rainer can adequately represent me on the City Council.
After reading The Laurinburg Exchange story concerning the Laurinburg Police Department, I am left with the understanding that the “race” of the officer is more important than the job they are performing. This seems to be racist no matter how it’s looked at. I have known Johnny Evans for a pretty long time and there is not a racist bone in his body, I’m not so sure about Councilmen Rainer and Leak.
