Miss Janet Mae Gibson, 91, of the Woodhaven Nursing and Alzheimer’s Care Center in Lumberton and formerly of John’s Station passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Caledonia United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery.

Janet is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the youngest daughter of the late Edgar and Katie Stewart and granddaughter of Norman and Bella McLean Stewart and Nathan and Sarah O’Brien Gibson. She was preceded in death by her brothers Claude Wilson, Howard Edgar, Nathan Norman, and Lock Craig and her sisters, Margaret Isabella, Ora Christine, and Katie Glenn.

Janet was a member of the John’s United Methodist Church until it closed, and she transferred her membership to Caledonia United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Woodhaven Nursing and Alzheimer’s Care Center for their love and care of Janet for the past five years.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
