Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?”
Wow. A New Year. Twelve months, 52 weeks, 365 days – a blank slate, a clean plate before us. How will we use it? Einstein is quoted as saying that doing things the same way as before expecting different results is the mark of insanity. So, are you planning to just plod along like you did last year (and the year before, and the year before and…) and expect the year to turn out differently? That’s insane. You see, there is a God of new beginnings. He is constantly new – constantly wants to make us new - and in the process He can provide us with a new way of living this year. God can give a new beginning to those who live in dull routines, to the crafty, those overwhelmed with life, failures, those who are in major sin, the unpopular, the unstable, and those who have been in opposition to Him. Come to Him as He calls from His Word, and this can give you a New Hope for Today.
