Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2012 at Leland Grove Freewill Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Tracy Locklear. Entombment will be held following the service at Rogers Cemetery.
Betty was born on May 1, 1947 in Marlboro County, S.C., daughter of Katie Lowery Locklear and the late James Lacy “Buddy” Locklear. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who brought a smile to their hearts. She worked in manufacturing with POPS International Cup in Bennettsville, S.C. retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. She served as a faithful member of the Leland Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed fishing and going to gospel singings and the beach.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Bryant, sister Lou Ella Locklear, brother Robert Wesley Locklear, and brother-in-law Norman Caulder.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years John Walter Bryant of the home, son Stevie Lee Bryant of Clio, daughters Betty Lynn McMillan and husband Ricky of Raeford and Tonya Bryant Hatcher and husband Michael of Clio, four sisters: Lois Caulder of McColl, S.C., Katie Nell Locklear and husband Floyd of McColl, Connie Locklear of Clio, and Debbie Withrow and husband Earl of Dillon, S.C., her grandchildren Christopher Bryant, Justin Deese, Cheyenne Williford, Tianna Hatcher, and Bethany Hatcher, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Bryant to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC, 29307.
