Trooper truepublic servant

To the editor:

While passing through a rural section of Scotland County recently, the left rear tire of my van apparently encountered an object that got the best of it.

Within two minutes of being stranded, an officer of the state Highway Patrol happened by. For an old woman who is no longer physically capable of changing a flat in 90-degree heat, his appearance was a Godsend. He handled the situation with good humor and in less time than it would have taken a tow truck to respond.

Many thanks to Trooper Lynn Pridgen. His actions reflect not only those of an exemplary public servant, but also the quality of your local Highway Patrol Troop.
